toddler nursing and my constant weight loss! PLEASE help?
So I'm still breastfeeding my month old girl child of 18 who is a poor eater. She likes some food tent and table, but mother's milk appears to be the best. I weigh 106 pounds at 5'3 "now. Is it still OK? Before my pregnancy I used to weigh 128 pounds and since her birth, I am constantly losing even if I eat LOT lol. my thyroid is ok.
The CDC BMI calculator says that the weight is fine: If http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/results_normal.htm?pounds=106&inches=63 you want to gain some weight try to add some lean protein (such as lentils, nuts, seeds, or meat). Think that you're probably very, very active all day long pursuit of a toddler. So you need more calories, even if you were not breastfeeding breast. Then add about 500 calories to make milk and you might need as much as 3000 calories per day. Congrats on breastfeeding is absolutely the best thing for your toddler, and have advantages both for you (mainly to reduced cancer risk, but may also reduce osteoporosis and other diseases). American Academy of Family Physicians: If the child http://www.aafp.org/online/en/home/policy/policies/b/breastfeedingpositionpaper.html is younger than two years, the child is an increased risk of disease if prolonged breastfeeding weaned http://www.kellymom.com/bf/bfextended/ebf-benefits.html Sheet * Nursing toddlers benefit nutritionally * Nursing toddlers are sick less often * toddlers have fewer allergies nursing * small nursing are SMART * Nursing toddlers are well suited SOCIALLY * Nursing a toddler is NORMAL * mothers also benefit Nursing past infancy * Additional Resources [learn more about each link is just at the Table of Contents]
